Porter Ridge Soccer Club Names Jimmy Disalle Director of Player Development

Porter Ridge Soccer Club (PRSC) has announced the promotion of Jimmy Disalle to the role of Director of Player Development. In this expanded position, Disalle will oversee development initiatives for both players and coaches across the club, with a primary focus on anchoring the Youth Academy system for the upcoming season.

Disalle brings a wealth of high-level playing and coaching experience to the director role. His background includes two seasons competing in the Premier Development League (now USL League Two) and a collegiate career at Buena Vista University. Prior to joining the Porter Ridge staff, Disalle coached at Woodbury Soccer Club in Minnesota.

The promotion aligns with the club's long-term competitive strategy, which prioritizes technical growth over early competitive outcomes.

“Having been at Porter Ridge for a few years now, the vision of this club and its leadership became clear to me: players first,” Disalle said. “It seems simple, but so many other clubs I’ve been a part of don’t always see the value in this. They prioritize winning and losing, even at the academy level.”

Disalle noted that his coaching philosophy is shaped by a career spent playing under diverse coaching staffs across the club, collegiate, and semi-professional levels. "My goal is to take these experiences and mold them into something that will help these players today and beyond," he added. "I’m incredibly thankful for this opportunity to work with all the Academy players and coaches at PRAA, and I cannot wait to take it to the field.”

Club leadership expressed strong confidence in Disalle’s ability to elevate the academy's training standards.

“We are delighted to have Coach Jimmy come on board with us in this increased capacity,” said Jake Roberts, Director of Soccer. “Jimmy brings a passion for development, and directly matches the club ethos. I have no doubt that our players’ development will be enhanced by Jimmy’s presence in the Academy this season.”

Porter Ridge Soccer Announces 2026–2027 Tryouts and Assessment Calendar

Porter Ridge Soccer has officially released the 2026–2027 Tryout and Assessment Calendar , giving young athletes and their families the opportunity to prepare for the upcoming competitive season. These tryouts are designed to evaluate players’ skills, teamwork, and potential while helping coaches place athletes in the best environment for their development.

All tryouts and assessments will take place at Chestnut Square Park , and players should plan to attend both scheduled dates for their age group to ensure a complete evaluation.

Age Groups, Birthdates, and Tryout Schedule

Below is the breakdown of tryout dates based on age group and birth year eligibility.

U9 – U10 (Academy)

Birthdates: August 1, 2016 – July 31, 2018
Tryout Dates: April 28 & April 29
Time: 6:30 PM – 7:45 PM

This academy-level group focuses on building strong technical skills, confidence with the ball, and a love for the game while introducing players to a more structured competitive environment.

U11 – U12

Birthdates: August 1, 2014 – July 31, 2016
Tryout Dates: May 5 & May 6
Time: 6:00 PM – 7:15 PM

Players in this age group begin refining their tactical awareness and teamwork while continuing to develop key fundamentals of soccer.

U13 – U14

Birthdates: August 1, 2012 – July 31, 2014
Tryout Dates: May 19 & May 20
Time: 6:00 PM – 7:15 PM

At this stage, players are evaluated on their technical ability, decision-making, and overall understanding of the game.

U15+

Birthdates: August 1, 2008 – July 31, 2012
Tryout Dates: May 19 & May 20
Time: 7:15 PM – 8:30 PM

These sessions focus on advanced skills, game intelligence, and readiness for high-level competition.

Rolling back the years for a good cause

Thank you SO much to everyone who joined us yesterday for a hugely successful event! There are so many new toys that you generously donated, it's going to take me several trips in the car just to get them to the donation site at town hall!

Thank you to each of you who attended to contribute to our community event. You know that one of our club words is Community, and no better was that showcase than yesterday!

This event was a collaboration, bringing our whole community together, and I for one, could not have been more proud! Thank you for making Porter Ridge soccer a fantastic community!

Located in Indian Trail, North Carolina, the Porter Ridge Soccer Club (PRSC) has established itself as a cornerstone of youth sports in the community. Formerly known as the Hemby Bridge Athletic Association, the club rebranded after partnering with the Porter Ridge school cluster, aligning its identity with the pirate-themed schools in the area. This strategic collaboration has enabled PRSC to flourish, now offering three distinct developmental pathways: Recreation, Academy, and Classic Soccer.

What sets Porter Ridge apart, however, isn't just their comprehensive programming—it's their commitment to visual identity as an extension of their values. The club's recent partnership with Admiral Sportswear has produced a collection that goes beyond standard team uniforms, creating a visual narrative that resonates with players, families, and the broader soccer community.

Creating a Unique Visual Identity

Admiral's approach with Porter Ridge began not with templates, but with a blank canvas. "Every club has a unique story to tell," explains an Admiral design team member. "Our process starts by immersing ourselves in the club's history, values, and community connections."

This philosophy led to a fully customized design process for Porter Ridge. Unlike many apparel companies that offer minor modifications to stock designs, Admiral guaranteed the club completely unique kits that wouldn't be replicated elsewhere. This exclusivity ensures that when Porter Ridge players take the field, their identity remains distinctly their own.

The design team spent significant time understanding the club's pirate theme, local geography, and core values before creating a single sketch. "The nautical and pirate elements weren't just superficial design choices," notes Jake Roberts a club director. "They represent our community identity and the values we instill in our players—courage on the field, commitment to improvement, and connection to our community."
